Spot Calculator Using Google Maps

I've written up a simple spot calculator.  It rounds the numbers so it is consistent with this article.  If you live at an address that Google Maps recognizes, this is a perfect way to get your spot. 

Enter an address or city in the search box below to locate your spot. For more information see spots. After you click Search, if the address is found, your spot will be listed and you can simply copy it with your browser and paste it into your ride share listing. If you enter a city that your ride share partner would probably enter, then you will get the exact same spot they would, based on the Google Maps Geocoder. Click plus or minus to zoom in and out on your location.

There is a site that has a significant number of ride sharing listings.  Check out eRideShare.  They currently have 18,000 ride share listings.  Trust is handled by providing anonymous email.  They suggest you meet with your possible ride share partner in a public place first.  It would be nice if there was a trust system in place for ranking the profiles.


Sharing Transportation with uship.com

Uship is a web service that lets shippers bid for shipping goods. Just post what your needs are and a shipper will respond. You can post an amount you can accept. Uship has is is feedback, so it is easier to feel comfortable.
